from 27 reviewsTrying to eliminate plastic from my garden and this seems like an elegant, plastic-free solution for edging my beds.
Exactly what I was looking for. Flexible installation and I'm guessing easy to adjust later if you want. More green friendly.
Fabulous
I love hardware and garden hardware in particular. When I saw this site and the staple product I knew I had to have some in my garden. Beautifully made and finished and the perfect touch to finish my project. I highly recommend 2Xedge staples.
A simple way to edge the perimeter of our garage.
Have not used these yet but looking forward to trying them where my mulch keeps escaping around some bushes.
Tried a few other solutions for my project but changed courses when I found 2xEdge! Perfect solution!
These are spendy, but I like the way they look and they are easy to use!
These staples are just what we needed. They work great. We needed something to hold a 2 x 6 in place in front of the horse stales to keep the sawdust in. These staples did the job!!
Just as pictured and worked great for my landscaping project
I have to move a flower bed sometimes and your product will make it easier for me. Thanks!
Easy to use and looks great!!
I used the staples to secure both 2x4’s and 2x6’s to create a border between a lawn and pea gravel. I was extremely happy with how well they worked. Really easy to use and the project went quickly. I would purchase these again without hesitation.
We wanted to landscape our parkway plots, which was challenging because of a mature tree with all the roots you'd expect right in the middle. These staples helped us deal with the hump in the center and the compacted soil on all edges. It took these two senior citizens no time at all and no physical stress. We are getting tons of compliments on the edging!
It is a great solution for my edging needs! Looks good, easy install.

What is two-by lumber?
The "two-by" in two-by lumber refers to the thickness of the lumber. Two-by lumber is nominally 2-inches thick. The two-by lumber available today is actually 1.5-inches thick. Regardless, we call this 1.5-inch thick lumber two-by lumber.
The term "two-by" comes from the lumber label. For example, a 2x4 stud, also called a two-by-four stud, is two-by (2x) lumber.
(By the way, 2xEDGE is pronounced two-by-edge.)
Two-by lumber is easy to find at hardware stores, lumber yards, and big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes.
What size lumber works with 2xEDGE Staples?
2xEDGE staples will work with the following common two-by lumber widths:
- 2x2 (two-inch by two-inch; actual: 1.5-inch x 1.5-inch)
- 2x3 (two-inch by three inch; actual: 1.5-inch x 2.5-inch)
- 2x4 (two-inch by four inch; actual: 1.5-inch x 3.5-inch)
- 2x6 (two-inch by five inch; actual: 1.5-inch x 5.5-inch)
What is the best type of two-by lumber to use with 2xEDGE staples?
You can use any two-by (2x) dimensional lumber you like including recycled plastic lumber, composite wood, and lumber made from hard and soft woods such as pine, cedar, and redwood.
For many applications, pressure treated lumber (PTL) rated for ground contact is an inexpensive option that supplies long lasting performance. You can stain or paint PTL to suit your aesthetic.
If you prefer to use materials that are not chemically treated cedar or redwood are good options as they're naturally pest and rot resistant.
You can also use untreated lumber and seal, stain, or paint it to suit your aesthetic and prolong the viability of untreated lumber.
What tools do I need to install 2xEDGE Staples?
You can install 2xEDGE Staples with just one tool - a 16 ounce rubber mallet.
Please note - installing the staples with a regular hammer will likely dent and deform the top - or crown - of the staple. Using a rubber mallet will make 2xEDGE installation fast and easy, and the end result will be a snug fitting staple with crisp, clean lines.
